Scopus-Indexed Journals

Scopus is the abstract and citation database run by Elsevier, and a Scopus-indexed paper is a common requirement for PhD submission, promotion and funding. We help you reach Scopus-indexed Q1 and Q2 journals with research that deserves to be there.

What you should know

Journals are added to Scopus after an independent review, and the database also reports metrics such as CiteScore and SJR. Journals are ranked into quartiles, Q1 to Q4, within each subject category.

Coverage is not permanent. Scopus can stop indexing a journal, so a journal that was indexed last year may not be indexed today. Always check the current status before you submit.

How PhDPRIMA helps, end to end

  1. Journal shortlist by scope, current Scopus status, quartile and turnaround
  2. Research design and model development aimed at the journal’s expectations
  3. Manuscript, cover letter and submission handled with you
  4. Point-by-point reviewer responses and resubmission support

How to check it yourself

  • Search the journal title in the official Scopus Sources list
  • Check that the journal is still active and not marked as discontinued
  • Read the quartile for your subject category, because it can differ by category

Common questions

How long does Scopus publication take?

It depends on the journal and on how ready the research is. Some journals decide in weeks and others in months. We give you a realistic timeline for the shortlisted journals.

Is every Scopus journal good?

No. Indexing is a minimum check, not a guarantee of quality. We look at scope, editorial board, quartile and recent papers before recommending a journal.
